I'm Back!!... and with a Challenge Card!!

It's been a LONG, LONG time since I updated my blog! I have made a few cards since my last post but more importantly, we graduated a high school senior, had an awesome party and went on a vacation!!! Throw in high school softball, a few summer tournaments along with one week of VBS and we have been very busy.
But, all good things must come to an end and all that ball will be completely over in just a few short weeks. I'm starting to gear myself up to get back to stamping....hoping to be able to finish house remodeling with some card making on the side.

I saw this current challenge from The Play Date Café and decided that I would play along. Something about the color combination inspired me! (I think it was the Green)

I have had BIG cravings for cherry limeades lately....oh the Sonic ones are so yummy!
I have found that I can make my own at our local Dillon's fountain if it is not Happy Hour at Sonic.

So the color combo and my recent addiction of cherry limeade were my inspiration for this card.
I used Friendship Jars from PTI along with the Newsprint background. The fun little cherry is also from PTI.

The sentiment I made myself from the computer, printed on vellum.
The colors, I had to make a few substitutions.
For Orange Zest, I used Pumpkin Pie. Chartreuse, I actually used a Chartreuse ink along with Lucky Limeade (imagine that, LOL). The Jade substitute was my newly acquired Bermuda Bay ink (L.O.V.E that color1) and Hawaiian Shores paper. Added some stitching around the edges and called it done!

Thanks for stopping and checking out my card and blog!

Just a little more winter left...

I will say that I am ready for the cold to be gone...but we are lucky it has not been extremely cold here often this year. Of course, soon I will be ready for the heat to be gone to...I am a fair weather gal. I think I am one of the few people that would do extremely well in Seattle Washington where it is cloudy most of the time...maybe I am a vampire (any clues as to what book I've been reading?). Anywhooo...This is a cool little cocoa holder...my AWESOME SU! Demo,Tammy, passed it on to me. And I still love that snowman. Now I have a few more wintery things left that I want toget done before the weather changes and everyone springs off to a new season in card making...so hopefully I will get them done soon!
