This weeks challenge over at Our Creative Corner is "Cut It Out". I was so excited to see this challenge..I immediately thought of paper piecing--it is one of my most favorite things to do, and it has been awhile since I pieced something together. I had inspiration for this card from Target---again! The cupcake on their card was a little different in design and they did not piece the bottom of the cupcake, it was left open to show the kraft color through. I added a little brown glitter for sparkle.
Seeing this challenge reminded me of the first time I used the paper piecing technique. I was actually working at a stamp company. A group of us were working in the studio and Lori asked me to finish piecing the card she was working on. I said sure...not realizing that she left me to cut out the smallest pair of flip flops known to man kind, LOL!!! I swore I would never paper piece again, wrong :).Stamps: PTI sentiment, Cupcake (can not remember...company is no longer in business though)
Paper: Kraft, Close to Cocoa, Patterned Paper )Hobby Lobby), Rose Red
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Misc: Ribbon, Brown Glitter

Funny story! I love your cupcake, the paper piecing is perfect and the ribbon is beautiful. Thanks for playing with us for the "Cut It Out" challenge at the OCC!
Eva! Nice to see you again and love your CAS style! This is adorable! Thanks for sharing your talents with us again this week at Our Creative Corner.
Eva, It's funny that you shared that story about Lori and paper piecing because I remember the first time I paper pieced. It was at Lori's and you both were doing it and I was like, "really? You cut all that out?" LOL.....now it's a favorite thing for me to do! I'm going to have to check out this challenge blog.....looks like some great challenges!
I love this Eva, perfect CAS design! Thanks for playing along at Our Creative Corner, we love seeing your work!
