Welcome to the ELC Release Blog Hop!!! Today is the big day---- the newest release over at Erin Lee Creative is available and ready for you to shop, shop, shop!
I chose this framed watercolor piece for my blog hop project today. A lot of the products in today's release remind me our great state of Kansas. I used the Sunflower background stamp, Arches watercolor paper and watercolors to create this vibrant piece.
I stamped the image onto the watercolor paper with Amalgam Ink then started the watercoloring process.
The first 3-4 layers are all watercolor, making sure to let the colors dry before adding the next layer.
Once all the layers of watercolor were added I went back and added color in the nooks and crannies along with a few details with fine Sharpie markers.
I just could not bring myself to cut it into a card. So this I framed it! Besides photos, this is my first ever framed piece of art that I have created.
I simply trimmed up the edges and found a couple of 8 x 8 frames from Hobby Lobby.
The watercolor sunflower piece was layered on top of a piece of water cardstock to create the mat.
Here is a photo of all the new release products that are available.

I am so glad you framed this because it's STUNNING! What amazing coloring!
That is gorgeous! Water coloring has always intimidated me but this may just make me give it another shot! Thank you for such a wonderful inspiration piece.
Your project is amazing!
Oh, wow! That flower makes amazing wall deco! Your watercolor is exquisite! I am a Kansas girl at heart! I spent my first twelve years in and out of Kansas and it has my heart. Lots of memories of seeing little sunflower patches in home gardens! :) Thanks for sparking happy memories!

Love the sunflower.
Beautiful sunflower design! I love the way you colored the image for your card, and the background looks awesome in that pretty color!
Nice coloring examples. Good framing.
wow what a stunning piece of art - love the coloring
I’m in love with sunflowers 🌻 and your card too!
I thought this was Copics when I first saw your piece. So vibrant and beautiful! Great idea to hang this piece up to enjoy!
Thank you! What part of Kansas? I am near Salina.
Thank you for your kindness! I struggle with w/c but you gotta give it a try and keep trying! Funny thing... I painted on the back of the “good paper” which means I had to work harder and it didn’t come out as well as it could have with color blending. I learned that after I did this. We all start somewhere, lol! Keep trying!
Thank you so much for your kindness!
Thank you Ceal!
