Gotta Post Fast...

Gotta go...faaassttt. My new addiction, Pretty Little Liars is on TV. I wanted to get this card up as the layout is from Amy's sketch challenge about a week or so ago. You can find the sketch on Stamp-n-Paradise. I think I may have to use this sketch a time or two...way cool one Amy!

Summer Nights...

This is the last "catch-up" post that I have to complete. This may not appeal to everyone but my hubby was a little fascinated with this one. It will make a great guy card...maybe someday I will write something in it and give it to him! I miss fishing, I miss the lake--maybe someday we will be able to get back to it.

Remember Ladies....

Don't forget to think about "The Girls"...they sure seem to get in the way of things but we sure don't want to loose them if we can help it!! For all of you who have been or are effected by and/or are dealing yourself with breast cancer (or any other form of cancer) my thoughts and prayers go out to you. God Bless You!!!

All Scraps....

This little jewel is well a little different...not your typical colors BUT the pieces were all pieces that I had sitting on my work table and they needed a home (besides the scrap box). This is another great Elzybell's image. The background was done wit the cuddlebug and I used liquid applique for the snow with a little glitter on the snow and stickles on the tree.

Got Ice Cream???

ok this is one of the cutest concepts.....scallop punch, round off the tops...run through the cuddlebug and put on top of a giant brown triangle and what do you have??? An Ice Cream Cone!! Nope...of course, I did not think of this...once again my SU! Demo Tammy rocks! She saw and diligently followed the directions to make it easy on us in the workshop. I suck at following written detailed instructions...I am a visual gal...ok I can follow directions I just prefer to be lazy and have someone show me things! This is my remake of the ice cream cone---had to share it before it cools off and we no longer want to think about ice cream.

Ya Blink and It's Over....

What a calm, nice weekend it was!! And now... it is almost over....Had a great time watching Michael Phelps and the Americans perform at the Olympics....amazing stuff!! Made this little 3x3 box and notecards using the instructions from the tutorial on SlpitCoast Stampers. Love it when something turns out looking like a million bucks with very little effort--those are my favorite types of projects! Next I am going to work on using some more of those fabulous Elzybell's stamps that I recently received--can't wait to play with them s'more.

I'm Glad it is Saturday!

Eventhough I did my misc. housekeeping job today I still feel way more relaxed than on a typical workday! I got to go to Hobby Lobby...lots of empty space in the paper isle!!! I am stalking the cutting tools as I have heard rumor that nesties have been seen in other stores...and I still need the circles and ovals....I am debting they change their 40% off coupon to say not valid on Spellbinders...anyone else think so??? This was a card I did last week...rubbed ink on the inside of the cuddlebug folder...and then embossed. I had seen a white on white challenge and was taking a shot at it but I ended up with way too much color to submit it as a white on white card! It shimmers more in person with the silver accents.

Kickin' It Up a Notch!

My mail man has been really good to me the last few days!! Yesterday he delivered some of the cutest stamps from Elzybell's and today my square and rectangle nestabilities were delivered. It's like Christmas here!! Just a tip for those using a Big Shot...you can literally crack and break the acylic plates so add shims one at a time....I will have to add that to "my dumbest things I've done" list. Blessings and Gratitude: I am so blessed to have a daughter that ALWAYS knows handle the tough stuff. Her words are always "Have you prayed about it?"

Not Really My Idea....

But boy (or girl) is it cute! The carriage idea actually came from my AWESOME SU! Demo Tammy! She rocks- we have a monthly group and she always comes up with or finds something fabulous for us to make. This month we did this carriage in a green and pink combo...of course I decided to rework it and had to add brown...Like, is there really any other color??? Oh and these scallop circle tags that I got during Sell A Bration are so useful!

*****I am so blessed to now be on VACATION for a week!!! Yeah!!*****

Crayola's?!?!?!?!

Who'da thunk it? Ok so maybe someone had already thought of this but here is my revelation for the week. I was so proud of myself...I had a braniac moment!! I am not much of a technique gal so for me this was a big moment. And here is a product of that whole thought process...

The colors used here are Pixie Pink and Apricot Appeal from SU! I LOVE these colors together--they are one of my favorite combo's---reminds me of a BIG bowl of sherbert.

The stamp...are you even surprised? The cupcake is from Inque Boutique. I will say am am very impressed with the stamps!! The Purple Turtle Shop has several really cute sets for $3.99 and up. Now, I tried these stamps before and was not sold...but that was a promo set...the sets that I purchased come with a black foam pad and that makes all of the different in the world when stamping with them....as a matter of fact that little black pad opens the door to purchasing rubber only stamps...cause the images stamp crisply with that pad underneath! The sets also come with some extra cling and an image index card and a label for the side of your CD case or whatever you store them in. I was very impressed!

A Little Gift Bag...

Well we are playing ball this weekend. Last weekend, YIPPEE! It is the State ASA Tournie and the girls won their first two games last night--today we will see how we fare in the Kansas heat!!

So, I was looking for something to post and found this little jewel. This was the gift bag that had my little something for Jana in it on her last day :(

I used one of the little cuddlebug folders and poped it inbetween the layers of the bag---did this on both sides. The stamps-they were one of my awesome SU! garage sale finds.
I just received some new Inque Boutique stamps yesterday...love them and I think I am going to order a couple of sets of Nesties today!!! So hopefully I will have some more new stuff soon!

Hummm....

Ever have one of those days where you know you need to update your blog and put a new card or something on your blog....but don't know what to "title" it ...well that would be me today...

I used one of the cuddlebug embossing thingies, SU tag punches and an SU tag set. Quick, simple yet a little elegant...and of course, my fav color combo!!

Have' n A Great Day

Well we put to rest another weekend of softball....or shall I say the girls played softball and I sat around watching. They played very well, the weather was great and the games they played were at awesome times...we were able to avoid any sort of heat there might have been!

This is one of the new sets from TAC that I just had to have...love this set with fun and bright colors.

I am tellin' ya.....

I think I have adult ADHD!!!! How does this happen....3 1/2 hours ago I was going to post this card. It all started so innocently....I went to Heather Scott's blog to try to find the blog of the person that I tried this background idea...so I could link to it....
We'll I never made it there...cause I saw a post about favorite quotes. So I had to rush over to that site...which just happened to be the TAC Savvy Projects blog. At that point, I was completely inspired by Mischelle's photo creations with the quote's....that off I went to PhotoShop....I can do a watermark...surely I can do that.....
First photo....put that Michael Jordan quote on a picture of my daughter pitching....could that be good enough for the evening...OHHHH NOPE....I had to figure out ( I have NO photo shop experience) how to get the picture on just one part of a page and have the color on the background so I could have text on the side...yeap...I figured it out (once).....and it is now 12:17am....I am posting this card...I still haven't found the link to the inspiration site for this technique ( the other person used a pop can and embossed- I used tin foil...inked....dried and then embossed with cuddlebug...it is really delicate to work with). Oh and the exciting part....all those eyelets....only because I bought a Big Bite to day with my 40% off coupon from Hobby Lobby. Gotta work on getting them a little straighter :) Not my most favorite card but maybe it will inspire someone else. As for me I am shutting this stupid machine off...before I find something else I just have to do....7am is getting closer and closer by the minute!

A Wise Man Once Said.....

Inside Card:
Follow your dreams,
except the one where you're
at work in your underwear.

Love it!! And it is much better in person.

Time to.....

Stamp S'More stuff! This is my last piece of completed new art that I have to share. I've been under the weather for a few days that have stretched into a few weeks--and I just haven't been stamping. But....I have a bunch of new stamps calling my name on my desk and a free weekend...so in between naps I hope to get something accomplished.

Stamp: Stamp LaJolla
Paper: Hobby Lobby

I promised ya...

While my computer was being fixed that I was working on cards and I wasn't fib'n. I also went to garage sales last weekend. The one right around the corner from my house had SU! stamps.....background stamps for $3.50 a piece....so I bought a couple then went back later when my hubby was gone and ended up buying a total of 7 sets and one little one for $26...what a steal...and they were good ones! It is great to be a "free stamper".

A little Sparkle and a little Sprinkle

I mentioned in a past post that I would be doing a little work here and there for some different companies that I have not worked with before. Here is one happy frog from Sparkle and Sprinkle ...anyone every felt like this before??? I know I did a few times in my younger years and on somedays....I wish I was partaking in an olive or two....oh...but I am sure that is just supposed to be water in that glass :).

Ahh...The Good Life!

This image just reminds me of the peace and calm that I get when floating in water on a warm summer day..."the good life" feeling. I also was reminded of the "good life" feeling this week when a friend gave me some old pictures from 10-12 years ago. My how everything in life changes (everything except for my sweat pants and sweat shirts that is!). And as I took some time to look back at the pictures and think of the memories, the line from the Garth Brooks song that says... "sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers" came to mind. You see even though I have some good memories from those times, I look back and remember some of the things that I wished, hoped and prayed for and I thank the Lord above that he knew better....because had he answered those prayers....I wouldn't have the GREAT LIFE I have now....Thank You GOD!

GO HAWKS!!

Gotta post quick as the basketball game of a lifetime will be on in a few minutes!
This card was done for another SCS challenge that was "stacking ribbon"....this was my attempt--It really looks like I did more layering-layer-stacking...hey not much of a difference if you ask me. The brown in actually stacked on top of the orange pokka dots.
