Another Valentine...

I am getting excited... it is time for my crafty and talented pals to get together.
Tomorrow is the day that we will enjoy some crafty, foood and what's even better---each other!
12 full hours of crafting, wohoo!

This card was fun to put together. On the red cardfront, I used a background stamp from Glitz.
The white cardstock was stamped with a Studio G stamp. I added the hearts with a little bling, some twine and a PTI sentiment.
Welp, it's time to take the fresh carmel corn out of the oven!

Enjoy your weekend!

Most Likely A Time Out....

This has to be one of my most favorite cards that I have made recently. Clean and Simple!  The background is a Studio G I purchased at Michael's a year ago, as well as the "Thanks". Add a punched heart and some beautiful black pearls and...done!
Most likely this will be my last post for a bit...a month or so. We have finally found a new home! Lots of things are headed to boxes and going to the new house...while we are still trying to sell our current home. With the start of softball season (yep it's that time again!) andthe move...this may be it for a bit. Good news, my new stamp room is 2x as big as the old one! Wooohooo!!!

This card also inlcudes a little PTI (clouds and impression plate), MFT (grass die) and a delightful Studio G sentiment( that can be found at Wal-mart!!)

Hey There Sunshine...

Hello Sunshine is one of the phrases that I use alot when my daughter comes home from school, being with friends, etc... She is truly my sunshine when she is smiling :) So when I saw this sentiment from Verve I had to have it. Just makes me think of my Sambo.
This time of the year is crazy busy. It is amazing how much not going to Wal-mart to get groceries effects the rest of the week. Shewww...one weekend of ball down only 4 more to go. The girls did VERY well last weekend. We saw our first ever over the fence home runs on the team. Yes, there was an "s" on the endof run. There were 3 hit all together with one being a grand slam!! Wooohooo.
It's supposed to be a cooler weekend...I am looking forward to that!

Supplies:
Stamps: Verve and Studio G
Stampin Up Gemstones

Card Isle Inspiration...

My friend Laurie, over at Soapbox Creations offered up a challenge this past week that I just could not let go by! The challenge was to find inspiration in the card isle at one of your favorite retail stores. I have had several posts and made many cards that come from ideas I found on the Target card isle. As you will see in this post, I dont limit my inspiration pieces to the cards in the card isle....there are lots of cool things on the card isle. I take pics on my phone and then just save them till I get to them. Sometimes that is a year later, but I eventually get to them.

Here is my first bit of inspiration for this challenge...
(please excuse the fuzzy photos...phone photos as I metioned)
As you can see, I chose a gift bag for my inspration piece.

And here is my card...

The newsprint background is from PTI and the sentiment is a Studio G stamp.
I have several more inspiration pieces that I am working with....I just didn't get them all done. I will post more this week.
Happy Stamping!

Trying Something New...

I have decided that it is time to try something new! So this fall I am going to take a beginning pottery class...and in the winter, I am going to take a beginning quilting class. I am pretty excited about both of these things! Both are things that I was going to wait to do until Sam graduates from high school. The pottery class is on Friday nights but they just happen to have a session that is squeezed in after high school football season and before basketball starts. Quilting, well I checked and lucky me...the classes don't fall on any of the days basketball is happening, so if girl decides to play BB we are all good! Why put off for tomorrow what we can learn today.

This card is a little different. Not only is the picture really crooked but the background is made from kites :)

Home is...

One of the best feelings in the world is the feeling of being "home". You know...places you go where you feel that warm oozie feeling inside. Places where you feel connected to someone, something, a memory or an event. Last night, I was at the school ball field walking to the horrid port-a-potties that we have to use. As I looked around at the scoreboard, the field, the make shift concession stand, the fishing ponds and the cattle in the field next to us, I suddenly felt that feeling of being "home". Walking down the bright white concrete sidewalk with the cedar trees poking me in the side, I realized that this too is a place that my daughter will someday (if not already) get that same warm "at home" feeling. Of course, I have had that feeling many times when it comes to the school she attends. Her kindergarten year was horrible. The principle always had her nose up in the air and her teacher never cracked a smile. Sam did not like school and after that first year, we made one of the best decisions we have ever made as parents. We decided that she would attend Southeast K-12, that is 15 miles to the south, in the country. I remember Sam's first day of first grade. I walked into the school with her and we passed by Mrs. Ramsey, the principal. Sam and I were greeted with a smile and a warm "good morning". It was at that very moment, I knew I had made the correct decision. We are so privileged to have the feeling of "home". Staying in one place long enough to create that connection and foster those feelings is not as common as it used to be. Whether it be the school, our church, going back to Chapman for a few hours or many of the other places that we get that "at home" feeling, I am truly thankful that God has blessed us with the gift of being able to stay put in one place for so long. It is a blessing to know that my Sam will have great memories and that someday when we look back we will both be able to share that fabulous feeling of connection for some of the same people, places and things.

My prediction...

I am posting this little snowball man in conjuction with making my prediction that the snow is officially over her where I live! We will see how that goes! This evening I have the windows open and was able to take a walk after work because it is now staying light longer. Ahhh...a sure sign that spring is right around the corner....finally!

Thank You to.....

Thank You to all of those wonderful people out there that have the time, take the time and make the time to come up with GREAT card sketches. It has made stamping easier on my and has made my work better! This little gem is off of a sketch from Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. This is a great- easy to use layout that I know I will be returning to as I have an Elzybell that is SCREAMING to be used with this layout. The chick's and the background flower are Studio G stamps, Party Time is from SU! and the green stamped circle on the white cardstock is from Spunky Stamps. Have a great week everyone!!

Where Have I Been????

So for one week I did scheduled posts...but last week was a marathon of events and I didnt get anything posted. WOW.... running for supplies for FACS class, 2 volleyball nights, working at Dillon's in the flowers, working the normal 40 hours, cleaning my bosses house, parent-teacher conferences and going to the NASCAR race on Sunday....that's alot of freag'in hard work!! This week will be a bit better....already sent hubby to chase the child tonight....only scheduled events for me is work and the garage sale this weekend...I have nothing marked! Our town is doing a "Pound Plunge" each week 1862 people pile into the local YMCA like a herd of cattle and weigh in... we are on teams of 4...our team lost an incredible 22.5 pounds last week and I do have to say that there were several times that having teammates kept me going the right direction when it came to eating better....I have no will power anymore....but a ton of stress...and junk food LOVES my hips, butt, thighs and BOOBS!!! This little journal is where I am keeping track of my weight watchers points. 11 more weeks to go on the plunge....we will see how it goes!! Supplies: Paper SU! Stamp: Studio G

You make me so happy...

I could wag my tail. That's what my pups say when my hubby comes home cause they know he will feed them and let them sleep on the bed. All this from the man who said we coudnt have a dog for the first 5 years we were together. This is a dollar clear stamp that I picked up from JoAnn's and a Lengthy Note from Lasting Impressions.

On a more serious note...remember the gratitude lists...I think it is time for them to return. I am going to try for two a post. It has dawned on me that somewhere in the past few years I have lost site of me and who I am. One of the first things that I have to do is "find" me or a resmeblance of me that has managed to get hidden in this little shell that I have eaten myself into....oh...no dreams of looking like I did when I was twenty-something...just shedding this layer that weighs me down :) And as I am doing this I truly believe, with and through the grace of God I will find myself again.

1. So today I can say that I am abundantly blessed because I am starting to see the dim light at the end of a very long tunnel that I have been in for sometime now.

2. I am grateful for a God who has not given up on me as well as a husband and a kiddo that keep me around.

Boho Pillow Box

Talk about LOVE! I received my first SU order from the new catty yesterday from my demo (she is the best by the way)...how exciting!!!!! And what's even better is that it is a 3 day weekend!!!!
As I opened and cut the Boho Backgrounds set I stamped each one...which made me more excited...each stamp is a wonderful image that can be used in so many ways. I will have so much fun playing with this set. The silver pillow box....anyone want to place a guess on where I purchased that? Yep...the dollor store :) The "for you" is a Studio G stamp--you know one of those $1 sets from Michael's.

It's Official...

If it was something that was intended to be done for Christmas and it is not done...(minus the ham and greenbean casserole) it's too late and it will have to wait until next year! So with that said I am off and on a roll with some fresh and fun colors...Passion Pink and Certainly Celery....and some fun $1 stamps I found at Michael's from Studio G. Simple, Simple, Simple...Merry Christmas All and may you all have a Safe and Happy New year!
