I had this SU! stamp set out and decided to give the black and white background with a pop of color behind a die cut panel a shot. This really is a cool and so many possibilities
The die is from MFT.
Thanks for looking!

Since my BIL has officially received his birthday card in the mail...I can now post it on my blog. I will say that this is one of my most favorite EVER man cards that I have made. Love the woodgrain background!
Need to get off the computer and clean the house, make the MM card for mom and finish digging stuff out for the garage sale. That is a list...so off I go! Have a GREAt weekend!!
I love polka dots! They always strike me as crisp and clean little bubbles of fun, so cheery. I have now depleted my stock of photgraphed new cards to post so I am going to have to get on the stick and make some new ones. I am lacking on things to journal...which might be good after couple of my recent posts. Oh how about this....a grateful list...haven't done that in a while. I encourage you to share a grateful list as well. Post a link and I will be sure to check out your list :)
1. I am thankful I am employed and that 90% of the time my job is fun.
2. I am grateful for my husband who puts up with me and my beautiful child who is growing up into an amazing young lady.
3. I am grateful for a God who listens and answers my prayers. Sometimes the answers aren't always what I had in mind but He is always there listening and working the "mater plan".
4. I am thankful for long standing friendships that have stood the test of many trials.
5. I am thankful for the opportunity to make new friendships and continue to grow exsisting ones! Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold.
6. I am grateful for the past, it has formed me into the person I am today. Whether good or bad, it all had a part in getting me to the place I am today.
7. I am gateful that God made dogs. There is nothing better than that cold nose against mine in the morning waking me up...and the feel of that soft fur on my fingers!
8. Homegrown tomatoes....gotta be grateful for those...so yummy!
9. Grateful that fall will soon be here. Falling leaves, high school football, cooler temps and campfires.
10 I am grateful for nature and the beauty it brings into a day. Birds, clouds, water, flowers, it's all awesome!
I did this little birthday card from a sketch challenge over at Clean and Simple Stamping.
This is one of my favorite color combos...and I am loving this new flower set from TAC. I did another card using this set...thought I was doing another sketch challenge...looked at the sketch again and I was not even close.lol. So I guess that one will be just a regular post someday.
...and I aint got nobody, I got some money cause I just got paid...Ok that was not where I intended to start but that is where it ended up,LOL!
In all seriousness, just playing in my stamp room almost in the dark, trying to make a card. Maybe that is why I am struggling cause I have no light! It's too hot to turn on all the lights. It is 11:15pm and I would dare to say that it is probably still 90 degrees or higher outside...ick!
I always start creating when it is almost time to go to bed...I think I am wired like a teenager...sleep all day and play all night { I think that is another song, hehe} if I could. So better finish this post and go finish the card...or at least push things to the front of the table so the dog won't be tempted to eat my latest creation.
This little creation..I LOVE it! I took a stab at the puffy paper flower things I keep seeing. It is fun and easy. Stamp an image on 6 circle scallops. Wad them up into balls, then semi flatten out. Poke a hole in the center and connect them all with a brad. Once they are secured together crunch up the layers again and waaaahhhhlaaa--flower head. The stamp in the center of the flower is from SU as well as the stem. The sentiment is in one of the newly released TAC sets...it is an AWESOME set!
It is here...the last ball tournament of the softball season for us. Tomorrow we take off to KC again to see what we can do this weekend. It has been a long season but fun. I have enjoyed many parts of this year in softball and there have been a few heart stopping moments as well.
These daisies are from the Friendship Jar Fillers set from PTI...great BIG flowers! I decided that they needed a little bling in the middle...a little sparkle and it looks so awesome in person.
That make life BIG. We spent a lot of time watching the College Softball World Series this year and during the Series they talked alot about the influence John Wooden had on athletes and those around him. In our house the last few weeks, we have been wondering around with the quote..."Little Things Make Big Things Happen", in our minds. But how on Earth do we teach this to our children? The obvious answer is that we lead by example and repeated exposure to these examples. I am finding, as a mom of a teenager, that this can be a little bit of a lengthy and challenging process. They know the details yet at times, sometimes very important times, the energy and effort to execute the details just doesn't happen. Since I am pretty positive that this is not the first generation of teenagers who has displayed this type of behavior, I find myself thinking back to being a teen. I wonder when it was that I figured out that the details were very impotant and it was best just to do it right the first time and that there is a pay off to doing the job right. I do remember my mom harping at me about the string art lion thing that "I didn't finish what I started" and I will have to say that once I got mad and sat down and finished it...there was a great sense of accomplishment felt. I have to wonder if it wasn't my first job at Hardee's, more so my boss Lucy that influenced what seems now to be a little bit of my OCD tendencies with scheduling, routine and details. That woman was a hard nut and getting a compliment even harder...but we wanted to make her happy. Maybe it was so she wouldn't get mad at us but we cared about what she thought, to do the job right the first time. I wonder what or who it will be in my kiddos life that will help flip the proverbial switch. For now, we will keep doing everything we are doing and continue to look for better ways to say and do it to teach the lessons.
