Reverse Confetti Sketch #17

I saw this sketch from Reverse Confetti and was excited that I still had time to play!
It was a little touch and go though, as one of the college students called and needed a staged "industrial tool photo"---today. So after taking a little tool break I am able to get this finished up!

I though this sketch looked simple enough for me :). I am not a gal of many parts! I like simple!
The paper is from a 6x6 paper pad by DIY Boutique that I picked up from Hobby Lobby.
I have noticed that over time, I have purchased ALOT of very pretty paper. However, I do not use it. I think it is the color combos. I like using this fun happy stuff, so my new criteria when I pick up a 6x6 pad---"is it happy and fun" if not it goes back on the shelf!!

The sentiment in the circle of Reverse Confetti's Inner Rock Star. I have to say I LOVE this set...endless possibilities!

For the heck of it, I'm going to share my  "Industrial Arts" project from this evening...I think I did pretty darn good!

Toned down...

Full color...
I am back to work tomorrow, with an out of town conference so I had to get everything done today!
Hope you have a great beginning of the week.

Craziest Thing Ever!

A few weeks ago, my Sam came home from college for the weekend and we decided to take a little road trip. DD, hubs and I jumped in the car and headed to Hesston for The Kansas Barn sale.
We knew it was going to be a little crazy 30 minutes into our drive as a friend sent my DD a message stating she had been waiting for 30 minutes to get into the parking lot.
I can chuckle now...it took us 30 minutes to get down the road to park over 1/2 mile away from the parking lot!!
This was the view as we came across the sale. This is from the road looking straight into the sale.
And yet, in I went with my daughter who seriously dislikes big crowds!! Hubs is so mild mannered nothing bothers him!
I will say there were alot of cool things there!
Below is a shot of the barn...which is AMAZING inside!
It was certainly a festival feeling...music, people and the smell of food in the air---awesome atmosphere.

Lots of pumpkins and fall STUFF!! And it is was a cool morning!

The picture below is for my friends Sharon and Vicki who love that Ugly Monkey!!
Ugly Monkey everywhere!

Below is the one thing I will attempt to make {{someday}}...This is actually the back of a T-Shirt pumpkin...so cool... can you imagine...all those old college or high school t-shirts, what a great re-purposing project!

Next post will be a card and then Ill share a little about Mentor Craft Day!

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Updated and Getting Ready!!!

I've spent a little time tonight advancing my knowledge and ability to use technology and updating the look of my blog! I'm pretty stinkin' excited about all that. I'm hoping to slowly roll back into more card making. I've taken a bit of time away to graduate my only child from high school and we are still working on house projects from our move 2 years ago. BUT...I have a great new studio space...it is awesome...and completely done...even the hardware is back on the windows!
I will soon by getting ready for our Annual Winter Craft Day at our church.
This is an event that I started 3 years ago at our little church in the country.
We have a fall craft day and a winter craft day each year...and I'm so excited as I think we will have a full house this time around!
Below are some pictures from our Fall 2013 Craft Day
Shirley making some gorgeous beaded jewelry.

Vicki started this painting the year before and finished it this year by putting her final touch, her signature, on the painting.

Homemade cream puffs folks...I need not say anything more about the serious goodness of the snacks we bring!!

And Barb....Barb has been placing sequins on this stocking.....since the beginning. She says she is bring something new to work on this time!!

Our precious Megan and her awesome Pinterest Project...LOVE this girl!

Sharon's fuzzy Santa.

These wreaths are so awesome....made me a little stamp cash making these this last Christmas!!
Thanks Sarah for sharing the idea!

Happy Little Snowman made from a candle glass...stick a battery operated candle under it and it glows in the dark!

And my sweet friend Sharon...who helps make it all happen. Oh the fun projects she always brings!

That's it for now! Thanks for looking!
Until next time....May you be blessed!

Move Done!

It's official, we are done moving ---well minus a few things in the garage that need to be organized.  My stamp room is workable---paint and new flooring along with some additional lighting will come someday...but for now, I am happy just to know where everything is located and to have a work space.
I have a few picture projects I have to get done and the home remodel list is 3 pages long, so I am not sure how much stamping will be done anytime soon.
Add to the mix....a SENIOR in high school this coming year and awesome things to take pictures of outside (like above) can you say..."easily distracted"?!?!?!
Until the next post....God Bless!

From The Yard.....

I have fallen in LOVE with my camera once again!! I was struggling with it recently after purchasing a new lens, then a friend helped me figure out what setting I messed up and wahhhhlaaaaa. I am a happy camper again...back to taking photos.
This lilly is one of many that we have in our yard. The cool thing is that we never planted these...nor have we ever had to water or care for them. They started on the opposite side of the privacy fence in our neighbors yard and little by little the last few years, more have popped up on our side of the fence. Now the question is how do we stop them from over taking the yard????
This Iris was one of the first flowers of the season. It was growing at the school yard in the garden. So pretty...and fits in perfect as the school colors are purple and white.
And last but not least, these little gems are starting to sprout and grow in our tiny tiny garden. We had one that would have been big enough to eat....but Kenny said he found it with teeth marks in it. Most likely the work of the snoopy bird dog. Apparently, she did not like it as she left it in the plant for us to find vs. eating it.

Need to Post...Seeing Red

So the last post, the colors werent all that festive. I went to post some little boxes I made...something more Christmas like. Welp...apparently, I did not load all the pics like I thought I did. I only had one box, which was a complete CASE of someone else's project...right down to the colors. Can't post that...so what's a girl to do???
I noticed this very handsome picture of our neighbors dog. He's red...which makes him Christmassy right??
Isn't he the cutest! His name is McGraw--he LOVES playing ball almost as much as my husband and daughter! He also likes to eat tomatoes off the vine. He stands and watches me pick them off in the summer...I rub them off and he doesnt care if they are red or green. He catches them and then gobbles them right up. He will bring his ball to the fence. Jump up on his back legs and drop the ball on the other side to get you to play with him. I need a dog like him to play ball with....mine just chase squirrels and rabbits which is absolutely no fun for me.

Complete Opposite of Clean

In my last post, I commented on being able to dress my girl in pretty little dresses when she was little. It seems we have traded the frills for a bat and ball uniform, the only thing girlie here are the braids and the pink in the uniform. Girl is usually the one dishing out the bell rinings but this time she was on the other end. I think in this situation she would agree that giving is much better than receiving!

Ouchie Mama...

I loaded a bunch of pictures to my blog the other day thinking that on my breaks during the week I would post some wise thoughts and finish them off. Welp, no wise thoughts and I started to forget what pics I had loaded. Looking I better get them posted before they are extremely old news. This is one of my favorite pics of the school softball season. I think this may have hurt a little when it was all said and done.

This is a test...

...to see if I managed to get the Facebook Feed thing correctly set up, and how quickly something actually posts. This photo was taken at least a year ago in one of our parks...nothing quite like the beautiful colors of tulips!

And now it is Softball Season...

And it will be for the next 4 months! I have to say that I am SO proud of my girl! She is working so hard and when she works hard it pays off. As a freshman she started the varsity team this year and it is looking good. She played her first game in left field and did an amazing job fielding..it was awesome to watch those balls fall in that mitt. The second set of games brought on something very new. For a few weeks she has been working on catching skills...our 1st string catcher is hurt and guess who went in....my girl! Mama is proud!

Introducing.....

The newest Pound Puppy to join the family. This little gal now lives with my mom...her name was Candy but mom says she is going to call her....Ducky. Anywho....she has to be the smallest and lightest blonde lab I have ever seen. She is still very skiddish....but after thinking about it....she didn't want to play with Annie today and she made that very clear to her...so I guess she really did hold her own at my house...which is a BIG deal 'cause half the time I can't hold my own with Annie!

New Stuff....

I know that I have previously referred to my fond childhood memories of opening a brand new box of Crayola crayons....oh what a delight!! Well last week I had taht same sensation when my new set of Lyra colored pencils arrived...Oh my...72 AWESOME...so perfectly arranged colored pencils...all sharp points....I am drooling just thinking about them! How neat they look in that tin all lined up perfectly!! I found out about these gems from Paula over at Paper Possibilities Talk about an artist...Paula is amazing with a colored pencil and in one of her posts she mentioned taht she uses Lyra and Prisma colored pencils...so I ordered me some of these....and Oh my they are awesome!! So soft and creamy and they blend like melting butter! It's to bad just owning the pencils doesn't guantee the awesome results that Paula has when she creates---but at least I know I have the tools to make it happen...just need to work on that talent and skill piece..haha! New Releases...next week there will be another Elzybell's Countdown to a release. We will be sharing some more awesome sneak peeks for everyone so make sure you check back often next week.

A Little Fresh Air...

So we have been taking advantage of the **warmer** weather the last couple of days. It has been between 50 and 60 the last two days and a little chillier today with the wind BUt it is SOOO much better than it was last weekend. I made the hubby and kid take the dogsout with me to walk on Saturday and Sunday. today we went to Chapman and walked some ground my hubby has hunted and played on since he was a kid. We took the dogs along...Annie decided to go down the 40 foot bank and yake a little dip in the river....better than last year when Daisy fell in the river off the ledge in the COLD water. The fresh air did everyone good!

State Champs!!!!

THEY DID IT!!! Our girls earned the Kansas ASA 14 and Under Class C Silver Division Championship!!! We are so proud of them...they went to tournament after tournament this year and played tough teams and won a few games here and there....they worked hard all season and everything they had been taught came together this weekend. The parents are proud...and me I am proud of my hubby (the tall guy in the picture)as well as my daughter-- as this was his first year being an assitant coach...way to go HONEY!!

On another exciting note.....I have been accepted as a design team member for Elzybell's Art Stamps!! How cool is that?!?!?!? I am in love with their farm animals and will have some soon to share with you...can't wait. We will be getting links to the other design team memebers blogs soon to share with everyone. The blog post from the company with all of the very talented folks that were selected is to the right.
As for the blessings for this weekend, I think we have already covered them :)
Thanks for tuning in and reading about the more personal stuff..we will return to stamping in the next post!

Inspiration...

Recently, I have been inspired to make (a) card by several different things. I saw a friend's trade that she was making for a swap....that got me thinking......then that Sand Dollar stamp that I have entered the picture....Looking for words on the internet I ran across a BEAUTIFUL picture of a ever so peaceful looking beach....and then I remembered that I have this photo that I took during my trip to Ohio a couple of months back. And since the card is still in the process of development (haha...now that sounds official)...I thought I would share the photo. As for the card- I will post it when it is created...hopefully it turns out ok...somtimes when I take this long to think out something it ends up looking like poo-poo when I am done :)

Light Houses

Yes...this looks like the photo that used to be posted below...I took the other one off to replace it with a watermarked one and my lack of patience got the best of me as I was not waiting long enough for blogger to uplpad my photo. Of course, me, thinking that there was something wrong with the site or my machine (couldn't be the operator), decided it best to just try a new post...so here is a different angle than what was posted before...ENJOY!! This is one of my FAVORITE photos from my trip to Lake Erie.

BTW, My blog is staying put!!! I am not removing it at the end of May and by the end of the weekend, I promise new stamped stuff....I have so many new stamps calling my name...I have just been in a little "fizzle" lately and am working at getting back into the swing of things.

The brilliance of SPRING color!

Ahhhh....kiddo and I went out to take pictures the other day. It was a little windy but a cool and sunny spring day. I found these beautiful tulips in the park and had to get a shot...I just LOVE the way the pink and red pops against the vibrant green in this photo. I would share a photo taken by the kiddo but it seems she has no interest in taking photos of "flowers" ( the word flowers said with the teenage funky look they give and tone). She wants to take photos of people...So maybe the next time...In the mean time, I have changed the background on the computer screen to this photo to try to envoke a sense of what can be beatiful if you really look at it...to my adorable and oh so lovely teenage daughter :) Happy Days!!

Honey- I Am HOME!

WOWZA! What an amazing trip! Amazing scenery, amazing atmosphere and best of all AMAZING people! Thanks Awna and Shawn for putting up with me for as long as you did....what a great family...and the boyswere all GREAT!

This is a picture from a beach in Vermillion, Ohio that I took. BEAUTIFUL!!!

The stamp show was way fun and I am so blessed as I get the opportunity to do some design work here and there for a couple of new companies that I have not worked with before! This of course will be in between the photo taking with dear Sam!! I am actually reconsidering leaving this blog up and running and just adding a photo gallery and letting Sam produce her own photo blog. So hang in there as we plot a new course, and hopefully soon we will have all of the details worked out.

So NSR!!

In this case that means "not stamping related". The family went for a drive yesterday..in hopes of finding wildlife to take pictures of....but all we found was this windmill. It was so cold and windy even the big hawks were having a tough time flying.
I'll have something new posted soon....I found a mouse today!! I bought my first house mouse stamp....what rock have I been living under...these little guys (and gals) are so adorable...can't wait for the next Hobby Lobby 50% off.

Ice, Ice Baby....

And I was on such a roll getting projects done...but since I don't work well when my fingers are cold progress was put to a halt yesterday after the ice storm. If you look really close at the top of the picture you can see our power line holding on for dear life...unfortunately the lines down the street caused a tree fire and they shut us off anyway. It's amazing how many times we hit a light switch in a day and don't realize it until nothing happens when you are hitting that switch. These pictures are of our backyard...one big elm tree did all this damage! There will be a whole lot less shade next summer that's for sure. I am just thankful that we only had to go 8 hours without electricity--there are neighboring towns completely out and people in Salina that are still without as well. We have no phone or TV yet which means no computer at home--but we have heat and warm water...and of course each other!
